  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge required
  • In addition, five to seven years of related work experience required
  • Proven analytical and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results and achieve budget
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) regulations
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required combined with an aptitude for multi-tasking
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application

Role Purpose Statement: The job incumbent ensures NAM fleet equipment maintenance and management is in accordance with and LSG Sky Chefs’, DOT, TSA and USDA rules/regulations. He/she is NAM Subject Matter Expert (SME) for fleet maintenance repairs, processes, procedures, training and budgeting. Furthermore, he/she will track all fleet work assignments, approvals, PO’s in accordance with LSG Fleet/Financial software. Finally, this position will interact with all 3rd party fleet vendors, chassis manufactures and truck builders.

Key Interfaces: (internal, external) Internal: CSCs (all in NAM), Procurement, Safety Managers and Global Fleet team  External: Suppliers, Local Authorities, 3rd party fleet maintenance companies

Main Accountabilities

Maintenance and/or Fleet Management

  • Direct the activities of the Fleet Maintenance repairs for NAM
  • Ensures all vehicles in NAM are properly maintained to meet United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • Direct negotiation, along with procurement with outside contractors and vendors concerning fleet maintenance
  • Monitor and assess the fleet maintenance services provided by all 3rd party vendors and in house mechanics
  • Ensure fleet maintenance schedules for the NAM CSC(s) are monitor, implemented and status be actively tracked
  • Inform and train the NAM CSC(s) staff & 3rd party vendors about the correct use of the NAM fleet
  • Monitor systems for proper use of vehicles: Telogis (GPS), Ground Star, Infor
  • Support all capital projects involving equipment and vehicles in cooperation with the Headquarters’ LML team
  • Ensure proper licensing and insurance requirements for all vehicles and other regulatory requirements
  • Support LML objectives, development and deployment of Strategic direction in NAM
  • Responsible for centralized fleet department costs & budget
  • Participate in customer quality issues, develop and implement corrective actions that involve fleet maintenance.
  • Maintain an ongoing, positive and pro-active relationship with all internal and external customers
  • Attend the daily operations briefing.Safety, Policies and Procedures
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with customer safety and equipment policies and procedures
  • Provide a safe environment by promoting safety initiatives
  • Reduce safety hazards by ensuring maintenance staff create safe tools and equipment.


  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized and directed
  • Guide, motivate and develop all 3rd party vendors on proper LSG fleet maintenance processes and procedures
  • Participates in coaching the expanded Global Performance System (GPS) process, as well as additional career development activities to enhance the effectiveness and potential of the team
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
  • Plan / Implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Global Quality Standards (GQS), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety
