Cost Analyst



  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications; strong Excel, Access skills required
  • Proven analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize and multitask activities with strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of food service or food manufacturing preferred

Role Purpose Statement: Incumbent is responsible for assisting Costing Manager with food and labor cost accuracy to ensure appropriate cost application in order to optimize pricing and profitability.

Key Interfaces: (internal, external)

Internal: Procurement, Industrial Engineers (IE), Program Management Food and Service Teams, Pricing, Customer Services Centers (CSC)

External: None

Main Accountabilities

  • Support costing methodology and ensure food and labor cost accuracy
  • Interpret recipes to identify appropriate labor requests
  • Apply accurate labor cost to menus and services
  • Identify new labor standards and collaborate with Industrial Engineers to set processes
  • Analyze data to assist with reducing cost in the operations
  • Ensure food material and labor cost alignment
  • Interact with multiple functions to understand true food and labor costs
  • Gain thorough understanding of customer’s menus and in-flight services (including systems) to become a subject matter expert within the team
  • Support Executive Chefs and Pricing Managers in preparation for the menu presentation. Capture all changes occurring during the menu presentation and ensure costs are updated to reflect changes made at the presentation
