LSG Sky Chefs Reorganization
Neu-Isenburg -- With yesterday's retirement of Thomas Nagel, COO and Member of the Executive Board of LSG Sky Chefs' holding company LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG (LSG Holding), the leading in-flight services provider is introducing a new division of roles and responsibilities.
CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board Walter Gehl will continue to lead Strategy, Human Resources, Communications and Marketing, Legal and Corporate Affairs and Internal Audit. In addition, he will oversee the Upgradeplus program, a two- year initiative aiming at identifying and implementing a long-term competitive and sustainable structure for the company's organization by the end of 2011.
Jochen Müller, EVP and Member of the Executive Board, previously responsible for North America, Sales and Solutions, will now assume the role of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing LSG Sky Chefs' worldwide operations as well as Sales.
Jens Theuerkorn, who joined LSG Holding in July 2009 as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Board, has taken over the leadership of Accounting, Controlling, M & A, Processes and IT, Procurement and Risk Management.
The company also announced the reconfiguration of its geographical set-up within Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which will take effect January 1, 2010:
Germany, LSG Sky Chefs' largest single market, will continue to be led by Gert Schnicke. All other countries in Western Europe will be combined under a new Europe region managed by Silvio Canettoli. LSG Sky Chefs' subsidiaries LSG-Sky Food (frozen-food production) and Starfood (convenience meal production in Italy), will be integrated into this region. The growth markets in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa will be consolidated under the leadership of Alfred Rigler, who will focus on further building LSG Sky Chefs' presence in those promising locations.
Dale Easdon, RCOO UK, will continue to lead the UK region temporarily until he transitions into a new leadership role within the organization.
The scope and leadership of the North America, Latin America and Asia/Pacific regions will remain unchanged.
"We are confident that this new division of roles and responsibilities responds both to the different market requirements and to the skills of the senior managers assigned to them so that we can truly energize the development of our company," says Walter Gehl. "The new geographical set-up will enable us to respond faster to our ever changing business conditions."
