LSG Sky Chefs Restructures Activities in Germany
Neu-Isenburg, Germany – LSG Sky Chefs, the world’s largest provider of in-flight services, will restructure its airline catering activities in Germany by July 1, 2011. LSG Sky Chefs Deutschland GmbH will be split into a management company and 12 individual operating companies. These companies will have the legal form of limited liability companies (GmbH).
"This re-alignment in the German market will strengthen the entrepreneurial scope of the individual locations, and offer an improved perspective for all parties involved," explains Walter Gehl, CEO of LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG. By establishing independent limited liability companies, or GmbH as they are known in Germany, the flexibility and speed of these individual locations to adjust to their specific market conditions will increase, thus generating improved competitiveness and growth.
LSG Sky Chefs Deutschland’s membership in the employers association (Arbeitgeberverband Luftverkehr - AGVL) will be transferred to the new companies, which ensures that the collective agreements and labor contracts remain unchanged.
