In Brazil, the Marriott started working in 1968 with the purchase of the Restaurant Bar of Galeão.
From 1978 on, the Marriott took place in the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro. With the structure of the Marriott, the main managers of the Services Departments got together in order to make up a new company.
In December 1989 Caterair International arose and kept the same standard of quality used by Marriott.
In 1995, LSG Sky Chefs announced the deal of obtaining all activities of Caterair International.
