Current Market Situation

Despite the sharp fall in demand, following the global financial crisis, LSG Sky Chefs has been able to maintain its premier market position with a global share of about 26 percent. In America and Europe, the company estimates its market share at between 35 and 40 percent. In Asia, the Middle East and Africa, the majority of local airlines still have their own catering facilities at their hubs. LSG Sky Chefs is, however, endeavoring to build its presence via partnerships and management contracts in these growth markets. Under these agreements, the company contributes its expert catering knowledge and access to the extensive resources available through its global network, while local partners provide specific market intelligence and on-site contacts.
