LSG Sky Chefs announces management appointments in UK
London - LSG Sky Chefs has appointed new managers to run three of its Customer Service Centers in the United Kingdom.
Mark Whelan has been confirmed as Manager of LSG Sky Chefs' specialist Halal Unit 600 at London-Heathrow while John Williams has been appointed Manager of the company’s other major Heathrow facility, Unit 27.
Mark Whelan joined LSG Sky Chefs in 2006 and was in charge of the company’s operations at Birmingham Airport. He started his airline catering career in Ireland, before moving to the UK in 2000 where he held a number of senior positions at Alpha Flight Services before joining LSG Sky Chefs. A key part of his new role will be to develop Lean Manufacturing systems at the Halal Unit.
Meanwhile John Williams is another senior executive who has joined the company from Alpha where he spent 20 years working on a wide range of in-flight operations including Head Chef and managing departments including Food Supply, Equipment and Bond.
Marc Webber Unit Manager at East Midlands Airport Customer Service Center, has been appointed Unit Manager at Birmingham and will continue to oversee LSG Sky Chefs’ operations at East Midlands where Simon Hall takes over as Operations Manager.
Marc Webber has worked the business for ten years in Gatwick and then Manchester, as Senior Production Manager, before transferring to East Midlands in 2005.
Simon Hall has worked for the company for nearly 18 years in a variety of key roles including Account Manager and Food Stores Manager. He has been responsible for instigating Lean Manufacturing processes at the company's Manchester Customer Service Center where for the past three years he has carried out duties as Information and Services Manager.
