LSG Sky Chefs acquires CLS Catering Services, Canada
Neu-Isenburg – LSG Sky Chefs, the world’s largest provider of in-flight services, announced today, that it has acquired the majority stake in CLS Catering Services Ltd., Canada and now holds 70 percent of the shares of the company.
CLS Catering Services Ltd., which was established in 1980, has been a joint venture between Caterwell One (Netherlands) B.V. and LSG Sky Chefs since 1994. Caterwell is a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Catering Services (H.K.) Ltd. in Hong Kong. Prior to yesterday’s deal, LSG Sky Chefs was the minority partner with 40 percent of the shares.
CLS operates facilities in Vancouver (YVR) and Toronto (YYZ) with a staff of 500. On average, both facilities produce some 9,000 meals per day for customers that include Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, Sky Service, Starbucks and Sunwing.
