Closure of Berlin-Tegel CSC postponed

Category: 2007

Neu-Isenburg – LSG Sky Chefs announced today that the intended closure of its Berlin-Tegel Customer Service Center will not take effect on August 31, 2007 as originally planned, but will be postponed with the aim of closure latest by the end of October. This postponement is caused by necessary, but not yet finalized negotiations on legally required agreements.

The intention, however, to close this location as quickly as possible, remains absolutely unaffected by this delay. This LSG Sky Chefs (TXL) facility has been accumulating losses for many years despite numerous attempts to return the business to profitability. Sadly, these negotiations, together with efforts to implement alternative business models, were not enough to turn the business around. As a consequence, the LSG Sky Chefs management announced the intended closure of the facility on July 20, 2007.

The company regrets the consequences and implications of this development for its customers as well as its employees. The company aims to offer jobs at other locations to the remaining 114 employees of the Berlin-Tegel facility.
