LSG Sky Chefs sets flag at Domodedovo Airport

 

Management Agreement With EAST LINE Signed

Neu-Isenburg - LSG Sky Chefs, the world's largest provider of quality in-flight catering, has signed an agreement with EAST LINE to cooperate in the development of EAST LINES' catering and in-flight service company, Domodedovo Air Service (DAS). Initially, LSG Sky Chefs will support DAS with management services and personnel.

DAS is the sole in-flight service provider at Domodedovo, serving in excess of 9 million meals per year to both international and domestic airlines. In the 10-month period to October 2004, meal production had increased by more than 58% year on year, driven by rapid domestic growth and an increasing number of international carriers moving their operations from Moscow's Sheremetyovo airport to Domodedovo.

Morten Andreasen, Area Senior Vice-President Nordic Eastern Europe said, "Demonstrating a presence in the two main Moscow airports has always been central to our strategy in Eastern Europe. The successful development of our existing joint-venture at Sheremetyovo airport incited us to take a next step forward and work with EAST LINE on the Domodedovo market. This airport is home base for many of our target customers and so this agreement with EAST LINE was vital in achieving our goal of becoming the market leader in Russia and the CIS."
He added, "We believe that a proper execution of the agreement is a first step to a more profound cooperation with EAST LINE in the future."
