Integration of eLSG.SkyChefs
Bundling of competencies strengthens customer service
IRVING - LSG Sky Chefs, the world's largest provider of quality in-flight catering, today announced that it is integrating its e-business subsidiary eLSG.SkyChefs into LSG SkyChefs.
Since eLSG.SkyChefs was founded as a legal entity in early 2001, it has proven its value in launching innovative solutions, such as the procurement portal and a number of state-of-the-art and highly efficient web-based tools designed to support the business processes in airline catering and in-flight solutions.
This integration will combine the "technical" capabilities of eLSG.SkyChefs with the business know-how of our expert solution owners to deliver breakthrough opportuni-ties for our customers. "Combining our knowledge base will support our approach of presenting one face to the customer and supplier" said Hanns Rech, CEO and Chairman of LSG Sky Chefs. "It will increase our effectiveness in the marketplace and create synergies for customers, suppliers and ourselves," he added.
The well-established "eLSG.SkyChefs" brand will continue to exist for all of the web-based applications LSG Sky Chefs offers.
Hal Michel, the CEO and Chairman of eLSG.SkyChefs will retire by the end of March after 35 years with the catering company.
LSG Sky Chefs is the world's largest provider of integrated in-flight solutions, including catering, procurement, equipment, retail and In-flight Management. LSG Sky Chefs caters 270 airlines from more than 200 customer service centers in 48 countries and produces around 364 million airline meals a year. In 2002, the companies belonging to LSG Sky Chefs Group achieved consolidated revenues of Euro 3.1 billion.
